Can I view excel files with excel or an excel viewer installed in the local machine

Native MS Excel file format
Of course you can! EasyXLS creates spreadsheets in the native MS Excel file format: BIFF8. Since most spreadsheet editors support BIFF8, you can view the files with any application of your choice.
