I guess there's a bug when you set a border style on a merged cell.
The cells were previously merged and then the border style was applied, but it seems like the border was applied just to one of the cells (see image). I overcame by applying style to both cells

Uriel, even if the cells are merged, they act as individual cells. This is not a bug. Your approach is the right one.
